I love being able to decorate for the spring and summer seasons! You can turn up the music & open the windows to let the fresh air in, not to mention everything starts to bloom and you can bring your own fresh flowers in or pick wild flowers!
Changing over to a different season is pretty simple. We take out the winter berries and silver accents and replace them with white sprigs and daisies over the windows.
The chargers are changed from red to silver and table linens are changed from winter tones to spring and summer colors! Add a few candles and fresh flowers and Voila ....a new look with little effort. It takes about 30 min to transform the room. I always check clearance racks at stores & look for sales at the end of the seasons to buy things for the next year. Then you can spend very little money and have a variety of looks from year to year! I don't think I've ever spent more than $20-$30 for a new look and over the oast 2 years I haven't spent anything! I've just kept things in the attic and mixed and matched things I already have!
These are a few pics of how we decorate our dining area. All year round we have the greenery and white lights above the windows and change the accents according to the season.
Chargers are easier to clean and more decorative than place mats. All you do is wipe them with a gentle cleanser instead of having to put them in the washer & dryer when there are spills !
A lot of our decor comes from Hobby Lobby or Pier 1 Imports. Both stores have terrific sales ! Sales that even beat Walmart prices! You just have to keep your eye out! Don't forget garage sales & Estate sales......you'd be surprised at what you can find!
