What's New With COLOR! Fall And Winter!
Time to start getting back into fall fashions! This time of year is great because of sweaters, bonfires, back to school to see friends, and it's the most colorful time of year! So it's time to add the color & dimention to hair that has been washed out from sun & swimming!
There are a lot of really cool foil techniques coming in! Slicing is coming in with great new placement techniques! Focusing on certain areas of the head to create a blended or dramatic look. A star shape for instance will give you a splash of multicolors over the top. This season coloring to specifically shape the style of clothing you wear will become popular! It's actually really cool to see it all come together!
Color blocking is still a great solution! Also, the trend is still going to be bolder color shadowing and solid slices of color. It's a little hard to visualize without seeing it. So close your eyes and try to imagine instead of the colors being weaved and separated, picture 3 colors in the same foil! Going either from light to dark or dark to light all on the same strand of hair! It is quite a beautiful effect! It's different without being wild and it gives you growing room that highlights won't give you. You can shadow any colors at any levels to be as bold or as natural as you are comfortable with! It's is definitely a "Do Not Try This At Home" technique!
This is a great time of the year to add chocolates and cool reds to cmpliment and POP out the blonde! Soften the look of the hair while adding a few lighter accents throughout. Dimensional color of any kind is the key to creating an exclusive look that was created just for you and your skin tone!
Another great plus to hair coloring is being able to accentuate the way your hair is cut. If you have any sharp angles, your stylist can lighten or darken those areas to bring more attention to them. It can be a slight color difference or a completely different color all together to create a little drama to spruce you up!
Fight The Frizz!!!!!!
Is humidity creeping up on you and suddenly you wake up in the morning & your hair is limp and flyaway or twice the size of your pillow and also flyaway! My hair is naturally curly so I can relate to feeling like Diana Ross at times. To get a clean crisp look with curls try using conditioner (a daily not a leave in)and mix it with a smoothing lotion. Rub it in your hands AND in between your fingers, this will give you better coverage throughout the hair when you run it through. Run it through towel dried hair & let it airdry. You'll have great definition & no frizz!
Need A Pick Me Up?
Itching to trying something different to lift you up and change things around? Try mixing softer curls with smaller curls! You can do this fairly easily by using a soft to med hold volumizing mousse on damp hair & drying with a boar round brush. Then take some med to large velcro rollers & wrap them through the top section of your hair. Spray a light hold spray over the surface (like a dusting). While those sit in the hair use a 1 to 1.5 in barrel curling iron to create some banana like curls & spiral curls. Let Cool down. Release the velcro rollers and gently shake the hair. You will have nice body & a mixture of different curls to the hair! This is also a great method to use to prep the hair for a half up half down style. Ask your stylist to walk you through some easy ways to use a few pins to put your hair up yourself. There are a few tricks that can make it dramaticaly easier for you!
